Ingredients
2 cups fresh strawberries (hulled)
1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 5–7 lemons)
3/4 cup granulated sugar (or to taste)
4 cups cold water
Ice cubes, for serving
Fresh strawberry slices and lemon wedges, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Wash and hull the strawberries.
Blend strawberries into a puree, then strain through a fine mesh sieve to remove seeds.
In a large pitcher, combine lemon juice, sugar, and 2 cups water. Stir until sugar dissolves.
Add strained strawberry puree and remaining 2 cups water. Mix thoroughly.
Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour to meld flavors.
Serve over ice cubes with optional garnishes.
Notes
Use ripe strawberries for optimal sweetness.
Adjust sugar based on strawberry sweetness and personal taste.
Frozen strawberries (thawed and drained) can substitute fresh.
Honey or agave nectar work as sugar alternatives.
