Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C)
Sift flour, baking powder, salt into a bowl
Beat softened butter, sugar, and vanilla in a separate bowl until light and fluffy
Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition
Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients until combined
Fold in pureed strawberries
Pour batter equally into two greased 8-inch round pans
Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean
Cool layers completely
In a separate bowl, beat cream cheese and butter until smooth
Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract gradually, sifting if needed
Mix in 2 tablespoons milk or cream to reach desired frosting consistency
Assemble cake by spreading frosting between layers and around the outside
