Ingredients

Granulated sugar, 2 cups
Large eggs, 4, room temperature
Milk, whole, 1 cup
Vanilla extract, pure, 2 teaspoons
All-purpose flour, 1/4 cup
Bananas, ripe but firm, sliced, 3-4 large
Chessmen cookies, 2 (6 oz) packages (or vanilla wafers/ladyfingers as substitute)

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C)
In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy
Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in milk and vanilla extract
Sift in flour and mix until smooth
Layer half the cookies in a 9×13-inch baking dish
Top with banana slices and half the custard mixture
