1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
1 tsp lemon zest (from 1 lemon)
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup powdered sugar
2 tbsp fresh lemon juice (for glaze)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease and flour an 8-inch square pan.
In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.
Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat in eggs, then vanilla.
Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet mixture. Fold in lemon juice, zest, and chocolate chips.
Spread batter in prepared pan. Bake 30 minutes, until edges are firm.
Cool completely. For glaze: whip powdered sugar and 2 tbsp lemon juice until smooth. Spread over bars and let set.

Use room temperature butter and eggs for smooth texture.
