Ingredients
1 box strawberry shortcake mix
¾ cups milk
12 cups cereal (mini marshmallows and pretzels)
6 cups vanilla frosting (full-fat)
4 cups Walden Farms powdered sugar
1.5 lbs strawberries (halved)
1 cup whipped topping (optional low-cal variant)
Instructions
Mix 6 cups frosting and 4 cups Walden Farms powdered sugar with 12 cups cereal in a large bowl until clumpy but cohesive.
Prepare strawberry shortcake batter by combining box mix with ¾ cups milk. Spread into a 9×13-inch greased baking dish. Top with half the cereal coating.
Bake at 350°F for 25 minutes. Remove, add remaining coated cereal, fresh strawberries, and whipped topping. Chill 10 minutes before slicing.
Notes
Use 1-2 day-old cereal for optimal crispiness after baking
Stir frosting into coating while cold to prevent clumping
Add 2 tbsp strawberry extract to the puppymix for enhanced flavor
Prepared dish is best served within 2 hours (batter may soften after prolonged chilling)
If dry strawberries are used, substitute 1 cup instead of fresh
