Fresh or Frozen Peaches, sliced (4 cups)
Granulated Sugar (1 cup)
All-Purpose Flour (1/4 cup)
Ground Cinnamon (1 teaspoon)
Ground Nutmeg (1/4 teaspoon)
Lemon Juice (1 tablespoon)
All-Purpose Flour (2 cups)
Baking Powder (1 teaspoon)
Granulated Sugar (3/4 cup)
Butter (12 tablespoons, melted)
Milk (1/2 cup)
Vanilla Extract (1 teaspoon)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C)
Toss peaches, 1/4 cup flour, 1 cup sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice in a 8×8-inch baking dish
Reserve remaining ingredients for topping
Mix 2 cups flour, baking powder, 3/4 cup sugar, melted butter, milk, and vanilla until smooth
Pour batter over peaches in the dish
Bake 40-45 minutes until golden and bubbly
Cool slightly before serving
Notes
Canned peaches may require additional patting dry to prevent sogginess
Topping is pourable, not thick; base forms its own crust
Top with whipped cream or ice cream if desired
