Ingredients
1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
1 cup whole milk
3 tbsp milk (reserved for glaze)
1/2 cup vegetable oil
3 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
1 cup powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for glaze)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C)
Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan
In a bowl, mix cake mix, vegetable oil, 1 cup milk, eggs, and vanilla extract according to package instructions
Separate batter into two bowls
In a small bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, and 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
Spoon the second bowl of batter into the pan, then gently swirl in the cinnamon mixture
Bake for 35 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean
Cool slightly, then whisk powdered sugar with 3-4 tbsp milk reserved from batter and drizzle over the cake
Let set 15 minutes before slicing
Notes
Use a neutral-flavored oil like canola or sunflower
If using a dairy-free milk for glaze, add 1/4 cup milk to achieve desired consistency
