Ingredients
1.5 cups All-Purpose Flour
1 cup Creamy Peanut Butter
1/2 cup Unsalted Butter, softened
1 cup Brown Sugar, packed
2 Large Eggs
1 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Line a 9×9 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in the peanut butter and eggs until smooth.
Add the flour and vanilla extract, folding until just combined.
Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan using a spatula.
Bake for 20-25 minutes until the edges are golden.
Remove the pan from the oven and immediately sprinkle the chocolate chips over the hot base.
Let the heat soften the chips for 5 minutes, then spread into an even layer.
Allow to cool completely before cutting into 16 bars.
Notes
Ensure the peanut butter is a standard creamy commercial brand to prevent excess oil separation. If you prefer a crunch, replace 1/4 cup of the peanut butter with chopped roasted peanuts. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days.
