1 (15 ounce) package Chocolate Sandwich Cookies (like Oreos) [crushed finely for the crust; other chocolate wafer cookies work too]

1/2 cup Powdered Sugar [sweetens cream cheese layer]

1/2 cup Milk [any type for pudding layer]
1 (3.9 ounce) package Instant Chocolate Pudding Mix
1/4 cup Chocolate Chips [optional sprinkle on top]
Instructions
Crush chocolate sandwich cookies in a food processor until finely ground
Mix cookie crumbs with melted butter until evenly moist
Press mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9-inch square baking dish
In a large bowl, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth
Fold in half the whipped topping until mostly combined (slightly streaked is fine)
Spread cream cheese mixture over the crust
In another bowl, whisk milk, pudding mix, and chocolate chips until thickened
Fold in remaining whipped topping; spoon over cream cheese layer
Smooth the top, cover, and refrigerate for 4 hours or until set
Sprinkle additional chocolate chips on top before serving
Notes
Oreos can be replaced with vegan chocolate cookies for a plant-based version
Layer must chill fully to allow texture development
Dessert keeps in refrigerator for up to 3 days
Serving with extra Oreo halves on the side is optional but recommended
