  • Total Time: 15
  • Yield: 12 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

3 large ripe bananas, sliced
1 (3.4 oz) package vanilla instant pudding mix
1 (12 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
1 1/2 cups whole milk
1/2 teaspoon salt
1520 vanilla wafers (crushed for layering)
1/2 cup whipped topping (optional, for topping)
2 tablespoons chopped nuts (optional garnish)

Instructions

Crush 10-15 vanilla wafers and press the mixture into the bottom of a 9×13-inch glass baking dish.
In a large bowl, whisk together pudding mix, sweetened condensed milk, milk, and salt until fully combined.
Fold in banana slices gently.
Spoon the custard mixture over the crushed wafer layer in the dish.
Top with remaining banana slices and crushed wafers.
Chill for at least 2 hours to set.
Before serving, top with whipped topping and additional crushed wafers or chopped nuts if desired.

Notes

Use overripe bananas with brown spots for maximum sweetness.
Glass dishes allow you to see the beautiful banana layers.
Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 48 hours.
Adjust salt to taste, especially if using salted condensed milk.
For a richer texture, stir in 1/2 cup Greek yogurt when mixing the custard.
