These Salted Brownie Cookies combine the fudgy texture of a brownie with the crackled top of a cookie, all finished with flaky sea salt.

  • Total Time: 32 minutes
  • Yield: 24 cookies

Ingredients

Cookie Dough:

Dark chocolate (60–70%), chopped

Unsalted butter

Granulated sugar

Light brown sugar

Large eggs, room temperature

Vanilla extract

All-purpose flour

Unsweetened cocoa powder

Baking powder

Fine sea salt

Topping:

Flaky sea salt

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F.

2. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.

3. Melt chocolate and butter together until smooth.

4. Whisk sugars into the chocolate mixture.

5. Add eggs and vanilla and mix until glossy.

6. Fold in dry ingredients gently until just combined.

7. Scoop dough into balls, spacing them well on the tray.

8. Sprinkle tops with flaky sea salt.

9. Bake 10–12 minutes until crackled but soft.

10. Cool on the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a rack.

Notes

• Let the melted chocolate cool slightly before adding eggs to prevent cooking them.

• Avoid overmixing once the flour is added to preserve the fudgy texture.

• For a twist, try adding peppermint for the holidays or drizzle with caramel.

• These cookies freeze well—reheat slightly to restore their gooey center.
