Description
This halal limoncello recipe is a sweet, zesty, alcohol-free version of the classic Italian drink. Made with fresh lemon zest, honey, and vanilla, it’s perfect for sipping or using in desserts and drinks.
Ingredients
6–8 organic lemons, zest only
2 cups water
1 cup honey or sugar
1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
1 tbsp alcohol-free vanilla extract or food-grade glycerin
Instructions
1. Wash and dry lemons thoroughly.
2. Use a peeler to remove zest, avoiding white pith.
3. In a saucepan, heat water and honey/sugar until dissolved.
4. Add lemon zest, lemon juice, and vanilla to the mixture.
5. Let the mixture infuse in the fridge for 24–48 hours.
6. Strain out zest and pour into bottles.
7. Chill and serve cold.
Notes
Use plant-based milk for a creamy variation.
Store in the fridge and consume within 10–14 days.
For the creamy version, use within 5–7 days.
Try adding to glazes, cakes, or mocktails.
