Ingredients
Ladyfingers (Savoiardi)
Mascarpone cheese
Heavy whipping cream
Lemon curd (homemade or store-bought)
Fresh lemon juice
Granulated sugar
Water
Lemon zest
Optional: limoncello
Optional: white chocolate or candied lemon zest for garnish
Instructions
1. Prepare the lemon syrup by simmering lemon juice, sugar, and water until the sugar dissolves. Let it cool.
2. Make the lemon curd: whisk egg yolks, lemon juice, zest, and sugar over a double boiler until thickened. Stir in butter until smooth.
3. Whip mascarpone with lemon zest. Gently fold in whipped cream for a light, mousse-like texture.
4. Dip each ladyfinger quickly into the cooled lemon syrup (1–2 seconds max).
5. Layer the ladyfingers in a dish, then spread half the mascarpone mixture.
6. Add a layer of lemon curd, then repeat with more ladyfingers and cream.
7. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
8. Before serving, garnish with white chocolate shavings or candied lemon slices.
Notes
For a limoncello tiramisu, add a splash to the lemon syrup.
To make it alcohol-free, omit limoncello and use plain syrup.
For a lighter version, swap half the mascarpone with Greek yogurt.
Serve in cups or trifle bowls for elegant individual portions.
