Ingredients
Store-bought pie crust or homemade (flour, butter, salt, water)
Apples, berries, or cranberries
Granulated sugar or brown sugar
Cornstarch or all-purpose flour
Cinnamon, nutmeg, or lemon zest
Optional: eggs, butter, chopped nuts
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Roll out or unroll pie crust into a 9-inch dish.
3. Crimp edges and pre-bake crust 8–10 minutes if using creamy filling.
4. In a bowl, mix fruit, sugar, thickener, and flavoring.
5. Pour filling into crust and smooth.
6. Add top crust, crumble, or leave open-face.
7. Bake 35–50 minutes until filling is bubbly and crust is golden.
8. Cool completely before slicing.
9. Serve warm or chilled with whipped cream or ice cream.
Notes
Fruit pies can rest at room temperature; cream pies should be chilled.
Add chocolate chips or caramel for a twist.
Freeze baked pies for longer storage—thaw before serving.
