Ingredients
For the bar base:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 large egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Cinnamon swirl:
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 tablespoons melted butter
Optional topping:
Powdered sugar or cream cheese glaze
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8 pan with parchment paper.
2. In a large bowl, mix melted butter and brown sugar. Add egg and vanilla; whisk until combined.
3. In another bowl, combine flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a pinch of salt.
4. Fold dry ingredients into wet ingredients until just combined.
5. Spread batter into prepared pan.
6. In a small bowl, mix cinnamon swirl ingredients. Spoon over the top and gently swirl with a knife.
7. Bake 22–25 minutes, or until edges are set and center is slightly soft.
8. Let cool before slicing. Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with cream cheese glaze if desired.
Notes
These bars can be made 1 day ahead and stored at room temperature.
Serve warm with coffee, tea, or Pink Hot Chocolate for full cozy effect.
Add chopped pecans for a holiday twist or chocolate chips for richness.
