Description
A soft and fruity strawberry cake made with fresh berries and fluffy vanilla sponge. Perfect for birthdays and springtime celebrations.
Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter
2 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup fresh chopped strawberries
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a round cake pan.
2. Cream butter and sugar until light. Add eggs one at a time.
3. Mix dry ingredients in a separate bowl. Alternate adding dry mix and milk to the batter.
4. Fold in strawberries. Pour batter into prepared pan.
5. Bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
6. Let cool before frosting or serving.
Notes
You can substitute strawberries with raspberries for a tangier version.
