23 tbsp kirsch or cherry liqueur (optional)

Instructions

1. Cut chocolate cake into bite-sized cubes.

2. Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form.

3. Optional: Drizzle kirsch over cake cubes.

4. In a trifle bowl, layer chocolate cake evenly.

5. Add a generous layer of cherry filling.

6. Spoon a thick layer of whipped cream.

7. Repeat layers and finish with whipped cream.

8. Garnish with chocolate shavings and extra cherries.

9. Chill at least 2 hours before serving.
