Description
This bath day cake is a fun, bubbly birthday treat inspired by tub time. Complete with pastel colors, edible ducks, and sweet frosting swirls, it’s perfect for kids and adults alike.
Ingredients
1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
4 large eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup buttermilk
Food coloring (blue, pink, yellow)
Optional: fondant ducks, white chocolate pearls, marshmallow fluff
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your desired cake pan.
2. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each.
4. Mix in vanilla extract.
5. In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
6. Alternately add dry mix and buttermilk to the butter mixture, mixing gently.
7. Divide batter, color it with pastels, and swirl gently.
8. Pour into pan and bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
9. Cool completely before frosting with marshmallow fluff or buttercream.
10. Decorate with duck toppers, sugar bubbles, and playful piping.
Notes
Use a mini cake pan for single-serve bath cakes.
Store decorated cake in fridge for up to 3 days.
